Join us on our guided herb foraging walks.

Being obsessed with herbs and foraging we love teaching these guided walks.

Join us as we take groups across the South Downs near Lancing. Part of the beautiful South Downs National Park. This protected area is the perfect location for our foraging adventures. It has a selection of grassland, shrubland also woodland. So that we get a great variety for foraging during the year.

On our walks you will learn which herbs are available in different seasons. You will learn how to identify them, what to use them for, how to use them as well as when not to use them, because this is just as important.

These walks are a gentle walk on hilly uneven terrain, with this in mind these walks are not suitable for everyone at this time. Along with being unsuitable for children.

We welcome dogs (we love dogs) so feel free to bring them along with you. However we do ask they are kept on a lead.

During the walks there is plenty of time for questions, do some foraging and learning about nature and history in the beautiful Sussex Downs.

You will learn about the medicinal wound healing properties of yarrow and the deep and mythical history it has, for example how Achilles the mythical warrior used it in the battle of Troy. Late spring brings elderflowers, hawthorn flowers, plantain (not the banana looking one) and daisys. Autumn is celebrated with elderberries, hawthorn berries, mugwort and sloes (perfect for sloe gin – we have a great recipe for that). All with their amazing medicinal properties.

You will learn how to make herbal honeys, herbal teas and tinctures. Perfect and easy ways to use the herbs you can forage on this walk.

On your own and want to join in? Perfect. The walks are very friendly, in fact there is always lots of interaction between the attendees. Please contact us if you have any concerns.

We run organised events for anyone to join us as well as being available for hire to do corporate events, private walks and festivals.
